Clad plate is created by bonding two or more metals by Explosive Bonding technology. These Clad Plates include different types of metal combinations such as Stainless Steel-Clad Plates, Nickel–Steel Clad Plates, NrCrMO-Cs Clad Plates, Stainless Steel duplex-CS Clad Plates which can be extensively used in the petroleum industry, chemical industry, and food industry.
A bonding process where two dissimilar materials are bonded with
the help of pressure alone - wherein diffusion takes place
without bulk heating. Generated pressure is high enough to force
the solid metal to behave like a viscous fluid, thus resulting
in a metallurgical bond without the involvement of heat. In this
process, heat does get generated; however since the bonding
process takes only a few milliseconds to complete, the heat does
not get any time to get transferred into the metals.
In other words, it is a cold-welding process wherein solid-state
phase is achieved with the help of enormous pressure that is
generated via the chemical explosion.
